Poker Probability   no comments

Poker is a game of finite possibilities when you play with your free Unibet bonus.

Most of the games, including the most common forms: No Limit Texas Hold’em (NLHE) and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) are played with a single deck of 52 cards, and it is this fact that allows you to use mathematics to your advantage over the long run.

The probability of drawing a card can be calculated by dividing the number of cards that will complete your draw (otherwise known as outs), by the number of cards remaining in the deck.

Example

You are playing in a No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) cash game and when the action folds to you, on the button, you make a raise holding [As] [6s]. The big blind makes the call and you proceed to the flop. The dealer puts [7c] [4s] [2s] on the felt to give you a flush draw.

So far you have seen a total of five cards (the pair on your hand and the three on the flop). You know that there are four of those cards are spades meaning there are only seven spades remaining in the deck. So your probability of hitting another spade on the turn is (9/47=19.15%). If you miss your flush card on the turn, your chances diminish to (9/46=19.56%).

If maths is difficult for you, then it may be easier to memorise certain situations instead of trying to create a mathematical sum each time you are presented with a problem. Think about the most common scenarios, like in the above example, and remember what the probabilities are on flop, turn and river. This way you can make much quicker decisions when put to the test.
